December 17, 201015 yr Commercial Member HI everyone,I'm a new RC user and quite happy with it so far, but I have noticed one glaring drawback. I'm sure this is a well-known problem, but I'm wondering if there are any solutions out there before I go off and make one.Previously, when using the inadequate MS ATC, it seemed that other aircraft would usually stop if they were approaching me (or on a collision course) on the ground, on orders from ATC. I thought this is simply a feature of FS, but now with MS ATC turned off and using RC, it seems like they have no idea I'm there and will recklessly crash into me from any angle at any time. I feel like a target out there. I've been rear-ended by a 737, head-on hit by an MD80, and blindsided by a Cessna, all in two days! I don't really expect RC to solve this, at least in this version, but has anyone developed anything that would help?Except for turning off collision detection, which I regard as a last resort that I hope to avoid.ThanksDutch Charles "Dutch" Owen - Developer at Military Visualizations - currently working on the C310R and SR-71A project for MSFS.
December 17, 201015 yr It is expected and has partially been tested in RC5. It does work.Turning off FS ATC should not affect the ground crash prevention in FS because that is under the AI engine. The only AI path intervention in RC4 is to freeze AI near runways as you are on close final to prevent runway incursion. It may also adjust speeds of AI behind you on final to prevent overrun.

Yet still, I have been hit by airplanes that didn't stop three times now. Odd. This needs to be solved; I'll see what I can do. It shouldn't be that hard. It's great that it adjusts speeds behind you. It seems to me that when flying with RC AI planes exit the runway much faster than previously -- but that may just be luck I haven't played around with it enough to be sure.D Charles "Dutch" Owen - Developer at Military Visualizations - currently working on the C310R and SR-71A project for MSFS.
