Issue loading saved flightplans...

Featured Replies

I have been having an issue trying to load saved flightplans. I click on the "LOAD" icon in FS2004 to load the plan and nothing happens. Basically my sim freezes and after a few minutes im forced to restart.Anyone else had this issue? I am using windows 7 64 bit version.Any ideas are much appreciated.thanks.Drew

What planner are you using to save them.I don't have Win 7 but your plans should be saved in a folder under your document folder somewhere. Under XP it is under My Documents\Flight simulator Files. First open that folder to see if it is there along with .flt and .wxr types. If not, start FS9 with an icon for the shortcut. Right click on that icon, select properties\advanced properties, ans set it to run as an admin. If you use an add-on planner you'll need to use the same procedure. In Win 7 turning off UAC does not turn off all user access security as it would in VISTA.Were these plans saved when running under Win 7?

Well here's the thing, I have a bunch of fps made by CLS (airbus) saved in the Flight Simulator folder under my documents. In addition I did a few plans on sim-routes and saved them in that folder as well. I noticed though that there is a folder that says Flight Simulator files under my documents, in addition there is a file that says flight simulator X files under my documents as well. I am of course running fs2004 and not sure if the X file was created by Windows 7 or what.. I have fs2004 on other pcs that are using VISTA and Windows XP and have never seen the folder name with X on it..Drew

It looks like I fixed it.. That add'l folder that was labeled "Flight Simulator X" looks to be what was throwing it off. I deleted it and now I am able to load FP's.Thanks again for the help.Drew

Better check your Win Registry with this free tool just in case they are incorrect for FS9. If you ever had FSX installed that could also cause problems (with early releases)."FSX/FS9 Registry Repair Tool (36KB) - This tool will repair your FSX or FS9 registry so that the path is valid. Many times certain applications use this path. If it is invalid, some programs may not work."http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=libraryOn Win 7 and VISTA you might have to bring it up with a shortcut that has its advanced property set to run as admin so it can access the registry.
