I have installed v4.648 of FSUIPC as suggested and can report that it made no difference. Under DWC RC4 still reports incorrect weather at destination. The only way I can get destination weather resembling anything like what ASE says is to use Smooth Cloud Transitions. Even then it is not quite correct but it is close enough. I may revert to pre-SP2 ASE as I never had this amount of hassle with ASE prior to SP2. Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,Do you have "UseAseWeather=Yes in the fsuipc ini file. According to Pete Dowson it should not be in there. But in the Radar Contact forum (sticky) it should be. Talk about confusion.I am just in a flight at the moment, and will see if the destination weather is correct or not. If not I will spit the dummy with it as well.CheersJulian

All,If ASE is in DWC mode you need the option in place. If ASE is in Standard Mode then you do not need the option in place---RC will work as it always has with ASE. That is what Pete said and that is what the ASE documentation says!

Hi Jim,That has changed, please read Pete's comments http://forum.avsim.n...-fsuipc-update/CheersJulian

Hi,You still are not understanding what Pete wrote and even he is confused as to some of the posts in that thread. Only using DWC mode do you need to activate that one line in the FSUIPC.ini file. Pete would know, he is the one who built in the ability for this to happen. In Standard Mode no changes need to be made. Yes, I understand that the sticky will be changed at the RC Forum.

Hi Jim,No disrespect, but if you read my reply to him, it cleared up any confusion. This whole ASE SP2 update has been confusing for a lot of users, for example the "S" turns in payware aircraft, the screen flickers and stutters in standard mode, in other words you can't win. See above if you have bothered to read it.I actually find your post above condescending, and the only confusion I created was typing the fsuipc version numbers wrong.Being in the position you are in, I would have thought you would have lent your advice or made some more constructive comments than my typo errors. Did you read my reply's in the quote box where I corrected those typo's. To the casual reader of this forum, you have made me look rather silly. And since I have been a long time user of active sky, how many times have you and I shared a post ?To quote Pete " UseASEweather should normally be omitted. You only want to set it to Yes if you want to force FSUIPC to get the weather from ASE no matter what mode it is in. There's really no point in doing that except in DWC mode, in which case it is automatic in any case. So why are you setting that parameter at all?" <end quote>So why is Pete asking me why am I setting that parameter at all ? I read from that that it is automatic in any case. jeepers have I read that wrong. So you are telling me that I should not remove the UseAse=Yes from the fsuipc ini file. Now you are confusing me.I do know he created the utillity, that's why I value his input. I did not doubt or disagree with his comments, I was trying to explain how damn confused I was with conflicting workarounds to get destination weather to be correct using RCv4.Since removing " UseASEweather" I now get correct weather reports in RCv4 for my dest airport.I have been a HiFi customer since Damien first released active sky, and involved in FS community since the commadore 64 days and very seldom do I ask for support, most times I read the manual, visit the forum(s) and do my utmost to resolve any issues myself. On this occasion, maybe I should have just walked away.As far as I am concerned the issue is resolved, and thanks for your input.CheersJulian

Fair enough and sometimes I do respond in a wrong manner and for that I do apologize.

Hi Jim,Thank you for your apology, I also must do the same, re reading what I wrote sounded like an personal attack on yourself, that was not my intention.ASE SP2 for me now is great, and to be able to get the full potential of DWC has made it even greater. Those settings above that Jack and myself have been manipulating the last few days (provided by Smiffy at FsLabs forum) have transformed the experience of flying in realistic weather. Hope other users who wish for the same also read it as well and reap the benefit. I don't envy your position Jim, dealing with support issues on a regular basis takes a special kind of patience, Thanks again, and hope I have not offended you in any way.CheersJulian
Hi Jack,Don't worry about Weather Settins Off, see below. Also I noticed under certain circumstances, the PMDG 747 (all varients) still has a tendancy to "S" turn so have made a couple of changes in the FSUIPC ini posted below. You won't get a bumpy flight as in real life turbulence, but you won't get the "S" turns which are annoying to say the least. This will do till Smiffy gets back in Feburary and re visits his settings. FixMachSpeedBug=NoVisibilityOptions=NoOneCloudLayer=NoCloudTurbulence=NoCloudIcing=NoGenerateCirrus=NoSuppressCloudTurbulence=NoMaxIce=3MinIce=-4UpperWindGusts=NoSuppressWindTurbulence=YESSuppressWindVariance=YesWindTurbulence=NoTurbulenceRate=1.0,5.0TurbulenceDivisor=20,20,40,40SuppressAllGusts=YesMaxSurfaceWind=0WindLimitLevel=200WindDiscardLevel=400WindAjustAltitude=NoWindAjustAltitudeBy=2000SmoothBySimTime=NoWindSmoothing=YesWindSmoothness=-4WindSmoothAirborneOnly=YesPressureSmoothness=8TemperatureSmoothness=25Instead of having to navigate NickN's weather settings, here are mine. Go to the [Weather] section in your FSX cfg and overwrite with this:[Weather]AdjustForMagVarInDialog=1CLOUD_COVERAGE_DENSITY=8CLOUD_DRAW_DISTANCE=4DETAILED_CLOUDS=1DisableTurbulence=0DownloadWindsAloft=1DynamicWeather=2MaxGustRampSpeed=200MaxGustTime=500MaxVarRampSpeed=75MaxVarTime=50MinGustRampSpeed=1MinGustTime=10MinVarRampSpeed=10MinVarTime=5THERMAL_VISUALS=0TurbulenceScale=0.300000WeatherGraphDataInDialog=0WeatherServerAddress=fs2k.zone.comWeatherServerPort=80WindshieldPrecipitationEffects=1You may want to adjust your cloud draw distance to your liking, I prefer 70 miles and is only a very small hit on FPSI will be hovering this forum so anything else, just let me know. Also PM me and I can give you my e-mail if that is easier.Happy New YearJulian
Hi,Maybe a dumb question here:On the WindSmoothness setting for FSUIPC there is a minus (-) before the number 4, is that correct? or it does not matter? This also can found on the MinIce setting.RgdsPedro L. Paz

Hi Pedro,Yes, copy as postedCheersJulian

Hi Julian, these adjustments are required after have been installed the SP2?In General Options-FSX Specific-Depiction Mode. Do you recommend that I must select Standard, smooth Cloud Transitions or Direct Weather Control? Josman

Hi Josman,DWC for those settings above. More siuted for High altitude heavy iron. Make sure you have the latest update for FSuipc and widefs/wide client (if using network setup ) CheersJulian

Yes, I believe that is recommended by hifi sim so use that (without the above. Use "weather setting off" in fsuipc.

Is correct to use "weather setting off" or "Normal default"?From the FSUIPC manual I can see that "weather setting off" is mostly for WideVieW users, I do not use that.Which is the best recommended setting to use with Smooth Cloud Transition weather depiction? Thanks
