December 26, 201015 yr If you want the OZx airstrips (340+) to show up in FSX airport selection list and being able to select to fly to and from them, you can download the BGL files at the bottom. That will add these airstrips to FSX list of airports/airstrips. The download contain one BGL for each region. This is very basic. It does not contain afcad files, but you can select the airstrips in FSX list of airports, and start at a airstrip or fly direct to an airstrip by using the FSX flight planner and GPS. The airstrips that did not have an ICOA code I have allocated a YZ.. code so to facilitate selecting the airstrip by name or by code. I have added an excel spreadsheet for all the airstrips with their ICOA codes that is included with the download file.If u don’t want to see the airstrips, they just remove the BGL. A very easy process. If you don’t want it, don’t download the file. --- If you want it, download the file and if you enjoy this, tell your friends.Blue skiesto download the BGL files. use the link belowDownload linkto download the Freeware Aussiex version 3 add-on Airstrips. use the link belowOzziex webpageThis is truly amazing freeware add-on and will give you days on end of pure pleasure.. This is truly the low and slow flying. Combine this with FTX/Orbx scenery and you set for the best VFR flying in FSX.an example of FSX Map with the airstrips. To illustrate this was zoomed out a bit to show the whole of Tasmania areaThis version corrected the freeze-up of FSX some users experienced when using the kodiak in certain cases as it seems that even one ‘Dual” ICOA codes in FSX result in a system freeze once you are in the vicinity of that airport. Therefore please note that this “freeze” up can happen with any BGL added with add-on scenery, that result in more then one ICOA code in FSX and is not exclusive to only this BGL set, but to any duplicate created by the many authors out there.
December 26, 201015 yr Author Why would you want to see OZx airfields in your GPS?simple answer..because you can do it in real life with a GPS to fly to a specific defined location..! So why not in FSXLong answer..The reason for releasing these files are mainly due to the fact that We are all busy people and most of the time we do not have the time to go search for them. There are a huge number of great airstrips that people will never get to appreciate because they just cant find these strips. There are also a huge number of users who do not have the skills to properly navigate with compass and stopwatch and also do not intend to ever use it or learning the skill and that is their prerogative to feel that way. So when a person have a quick time for flying, they can use this BGL files to ensure that at least they get the opportunity to get to appreciate the airstrips. So it goes both ways. People are able to get to the airport and developers get people to appreciate their work.People who still want to use proper navigating principles, still can do so, and even I do when I have the time to do so. These files do NOT force any person NOT to use proper navigating procedures. So it is up to the individual to decide to either fly direct to an airstrip or to fly there with proper navigating procedures. ----- Giving people a CHOICE -----
