December 28, 201015 yr I'm not asking you to blow any covers here, but one of the weaknesses of the default ATC system has always been that essentially all airspace is treated as contrlled -- radar service is available everywhere and the like. In V5, does one get the "full class G experience" in that ATC service is only provided in controlled airspace either according to the FS defined airspace or some static airspace model like in V4?
December 28, 201015 yr V5 will allow both VFR and IFR flights. Uncontrolled airports are offered flight plan options and clearance request options. Flight following will be offered. In the grand scheme you'll be able as I understand it to activate and cancer IFR while on a VFR flight. I expect if not in the first release facilities for VFR on top will be available.I think that covers the situations for Class G.In V4 you can now take off and land at uncontrolled airports (without tower facilities and full departure/arrival radar where center radar might provide those services to transition points) but you are controlled enroute.
