December 28, 201015 yr Hello!!!I have this PC:AMD Phenom II X6 1055T 2,8Ghz AM3ASUS M4A87TD/USB34GB DDR3 Mushkin Extreme PC2000 (Dual-channel)ASUS Matrix GTX285 1GB DDR3WD Caviar Black 640GB SATA3 7200rpmFSX run good, but not enought ...I'm considering to purchase a new graphic card, or a new HDD (dedicated to FSX only) ...What option you think will be better? A new GTX470 or 480? Or a WD Velociraptor SATA3 10,000rpm dedicated to FSX?Thanks in advanceRegards from Spain José Fco. December 28, 201015 yr Hi,it sounds funny, but take both: the hdd and the new graficcard. The HDD for faster loading and the GTX for better framerates. If you only have the money for one, take the GTX...Since some weeks I own a GTX 580 (Intel 975@4312 MHz, 6 GB RAM and one RAID-SSD for WIN7and one RAID-SSD for FSX ) and now FSX works very comfortable. but all switches are still not on the far right...Testing will bring the success.Regards,Matthes With the best wishes from EDDF, Matthias Forstner

December 28, 201015 yr Do not agree with new GPU ideas. Simple check THG's ratings for GPUs where FSX is present, you'll find that it doesn't matter which card do you have as long as it Nvidea.I did save a lot of money just by checking ratings :)P.S. True only if you don't worry about other games. Evgeny Krivosheev

Entonces que misterio tiene FSX? He probado miles de cosas en el fsx.cfg, algunos funcionan bien ... Pero ninguno da un rendimiento absoluto cuando le metes un escenario de Aerosoft y un bicho como el MD-11 José Fco. December 28, 201015 yr Commercial Member Don't get a 480, the 570 replaced it and it runs much cooler and uses less power. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

December 29, 201015 yr Commercial Member Michael,EVGA makes some great X58 boards and their support is second to none. They're a little pricer than some of the more standard brands like Asus, MSI etc, but they are very high quality and designed with the enthusiast/overclocker in mind. My next board (Sandy Bridge possibly) will probably be from them.Check out their X58 FTW3 model. "FTW" is gamer slang meaning "For The Win" by the way - it's kind of an inside joke EVGA does haha. The really expensive "Classified" models are just overkill I think - quad-SLI and stuff like that. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
