October 29, 200322 yr Cruising the new files this morning, and I see a OPENSKY B757 with VC in Delta livery. But the category is FS2K2.Is this possible? Or is it a mistake?I don't use FS9, yet.But if this file is really for 2K2, then I'm happy for now. Thanks for either bursting my bubble, or making me happier.Rick
October 29, 200322 yr Haven't been paying close enough attention to the forums I see ;)The entire POSKY 757-200 (ver 2) series works as well in FS2002 as FS2004.BTW, the same holds true for their awesome Airbus A330 batch. Makes us FS2002 guys very, very happy Simmers.:) Racartronit means something, but I just can't remember what
October 31, 200322 yr Racartron. Sadly, this is true. Ever since the debut of FS9 and all the attention paid to the beautiful newcomer, I've sunk back into FS2K2 and still continue improving that sim. I haven't paid too much attention the boards.So.........Thanks for keeping my bubble alive. Are there any tricks to making the Opensky B757 work in FS2K2? Or is it a smooth install as is?Thanks again!!Rick
October 31, 200322 yr While the visual model functions and looks great in FS2002, the FDE is another story as it was created for FS2004. With that said you will have some tweeking to do to the aircraft cfg in order for it to fly correctly in FS2002.I tweeked my own FDE's for both the RR and P&W variants to be used with the PIC panel and by doing so I'm having lots of fun flying Posky's beautiful new bird.Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE Designer
October 31, 200322 yr What kind of tweaks are required? I have installed one of these birds into my FS2002 and it looks amazing. Performs even better than some FS2002 specific aircraft in terms of frames, texture loading etc.I haven't had a chance for a big flight, just a quick take off and I did sense that there may be something "not quite right" although it didn't seem too bad.Any tips appreciated.
October 31, 200322 yr Hi :)Don't believe anyone who says that their planes are ONLY for FS2004! All you need to do is replace the aircraft's FS2004 flight dynamics with FS2002 flight dynamics, and update the contact points etc :)http://album.atomic-systems.com/showPic.ph...rbus_Advert.gif Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
October 31, 200322 yr i think it is fair to distinguish between the two sims if it is a 'metal' paint eg AAL as the reflections (alpha layers) are quite different:)regardsEdhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/38210.jpg My FS Videos
October 31, 200322 yr Unfortunately, I am not sure how to change the FDE for another and certainly not how to change the contact points!! :-newbie (well, not THAT much of one, but in this case...)
November 1, 200322 yr This thread is very interesting. I see the post by a YeoDesigns developerdesigner where the FDE can be altered to make the 757 fly right in 2K2.So the next question is; "Anybody with some expertise care to share, or develop an FDE and contact points section in .cfg file for the Opensky B757 to fly right in 2K2??And all right! I won't believe anybody who tells me that FS9 aircraft won't work in 2K2.I went back to the file library and couldn't find the FS 2002 category listing for the B757. But I swear it was there earlier. Thanks for the great discussion!!Rick
November 1, 200322 yr I would be more then happy to email anyone interested in the FDE I put together for both the Posky RR and P&W variants in FS2002, but I will warn people now that I did this with the PIC panel specifically in mind and have no idea how the aircraft will function with any other panel.Regards,Van LatendresseYeoDesigns/AFG GroupPanel/FDE [email protected]
