January 6, 201115 yr Guys, if I want to edit fs9.cfg which one should I tinker at - the one in //Application Data/Microsoft/FS9 or in //AppData/Roaming/Microsoft/FS9?Also, how can I shut off preview of the folders on the task bar? Thanks,Dirk.
January 8, 201115 yr Author The AppData route is the correct one. I guess you know about UAC ?Yes, Bill, it is off. Thanks for the AppData answer.Does anyone know what is the difference between:C:\Users\Dirk\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9C:\Users\Dirk\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9C:\Documents and Settings\Dirk\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9C:\Documents and Settings\Dirk\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FS9This is the insane number of locations of FS9 folder on my fresh Win7 64-bit install, is there anything wrong with it?. As BillW advised I should edit fs9.cfg that is in AppData folder. What is the implication of that I changed fs9.cfg in \\Application Data\\ folder rather than \\AppData\\?Thanks,Dirk.
January 8, 201115 yr If I understand the program setup correctly, the programs under the "AppData" section are those that UAC protects from tampering. I believe this is why many users suggest installing FS9 outside of the "program Files x86" area. It seems that this causes Vista and Win7 to be very bloated. But we do have access to large hard drives, right?

And still all that mess with multiple copies? Thanks,Dirk.
