January 8, 201115 yr Hello.Same process as has been the case for years now: In FSX, I select <Settings>, then <Scenry Libray>, then <Add Area>. I then double-click the "Addon Scenery" folder, and single-click to highlight the new scenery folder I want to activate. Now here's where the fun begins...When I select the scenery folder BEFORE clicking <OK>, the entire directory to that folder is shown in the "Directory:" line on the Select Scenery Directory window. When I click <OK>, I get dumped into that particular folder, and now I'm seeing "Scenery" and Texture" folders. Nothing else happens. I don't get sent back to the Scenery Library and I'm not able to check mark and prioritize the new scenery. Then I try again from the beginning, and in this instance, I backspace the path shown in the "Directory:" line so now the path just shows to "Addon Scenery" and no further, all while the particular scenery folder is still shown in the "Scenery Area Title:" line. Now when I click <OK>, the only thing that happens is that the path in the "Directory:" window is highlighted. Nothing else happens. I still don't get sent back to the Scenery Library page to check mark and prioritize the scenery.I've made sure that "Read Only" is UNCHECKED in the Properties settings for the scenery folder I want to activate. A blue box is still there for "Read Only" after I've unchecked, applied, ok'ed, and exited out of the Properties window, though there is no longer a check-mark. Not sure what that blue box is, and it won't go away no matter what I do. Anyways...This situation occurs with any scenery folder I try to activate. I've installed several new scenery folders recently and I haven't been able to activate any of them. And yes, these are sceneries that require activation, not just simple .bgl files thrown into the "Addon Scenery/Scenery" folder.Of course, FSX is NOT installed in the default directory (not in the Program Files or Program Files (x86) folders).Running 64 bit Windows 7.Any help is gratefully appreciated, as this "situation" is driving me nuts...

January 8, 201115 yr Author Does this help? http://iblueyonder.c...x-in-windows-7/ Totally helped!"...counter-intuitive", indeed. :rolleyes:Excellent for such a short video; very concise and clearly explained.Had that been me, the video would have been 30 minutes long. @ Luc:Currently I have 142 layers checked. Not sure what the actual limit is, but I'm sure it's some god-awfully high number, in the several hundreds IIRC.
