January 9, 201115 yr Sometimes, after clicking on the cursor button on the GPS, FS9 will crash and take Windows with it. This used to happen to me all the time with WinXP, years ago, but it just happened on a completely different setup on a different computer running Vista. Any suggestions?
January 10, 201115 yr Sometimes, after clicking on the cursor button on the GPS, FS9 will crash and take Windows with it. This used to happen to me all the time with WinXP, years ago, but it just happened on a completely different setup on a different computer running Vista. Any suggestions?I've had this happen, but only on the approach page for particular (add-on) airports - LIML (Milan Linate) and ESMS (Malmo) were IIRC two culprits. Simply reinstalling the sceneries seemed to do the trick. If you find this happening with particular airports then it might be worth a go.
January 10, 201115 yr You didn't say what GPS was hanging up. I had a "moving map GPS" on a computer that was connected to the internet by a wireless router and it would "hang" up about every minute or so. I connected the same computer to the internet (hardwired) with a cat 5 cable and the hang-ups went away. jerrycwo4
January 10, 201115 yr You'd be better going in to your router administration and allowing communication to/from the host IP address that the GPS application was trying to reach IF you think that is a safe access. Your router firewall may not like certain protocols (some are used in Denial Of Service attacks and are blocked) and bypassing it in firewall settings for that one address might be required.Good protection relies on both software security applications and the firmware in your router.I'd check out with a support contact why the gauge needs access.
