January 10, 201115 yr Ok, this is odd...If I select ENG anti ice to on, I get the usual 'slump' in engine performance which is expected. However, when switched off, performance is not restored!I thought it was just me, but the other day I decided to test full power after landing, and with the power levers 'firewalled', the engines would not generate more than 80% torque. Similarly, with the condition levers set to flight, and the power levers in FULL reverse, I was only getting -90% torque. Normally with the power levers in full reverse the torque limit is exceeded and will flash in green.I just ran another test flight. I operated the engine anti ice and immediately lost power. However, when I returned the switches to off, the engines did not recover. I ended up pushing the power levers fully forward and was still loosing airspeed??? This is definitely not a joystick problem as I've run tests with it disconnected and have used the F keys to command power.Any ideas what might be causing this?Kind Regards,Martin Neep
January 11, 201115 yr Hello Martin. Are you sure you haven't damaged the engine somehow? Remember, you need to reduce EGT to the first hash mark before engaging A/I or you will fry the engines. Depending on OAT the maximum torque might be well below 100%. Especially if you have A/I enabled. Firewalling the throttle in the J41 will certainly break the engines, unless it's cold outside... January 11, 201115 yr I think this may have been some sort of corruption after saving too many flights, one after the other. I have loaded the default Cessna and selected the J41 aircraft from scratch; ran the same tests and now ENG ANTI ICE is working as expected! Thanks for your help,Martin NeepJust out of interest.., would the TPE331 really generate in excess of 100% neg torque with the power levers in FULL reverse?
January 11, 201115 yr Martin, You should always use default trike or Cessna, or... You can try my way which is to load J41 via saved flight files by double clicking them. This way J41 can even save panel state.Regarding TPE331: I have no idea, if it does in PMDG's simulation, then I bet it does in real world too ;)
