Touchscreen Monitor advice please

Featured Replies

If I use a 7" touchscreen monitor as a second monitor and drag over say a `windowed` FMC or a `windowed` GPS from the main FSX 2D cocklpit display, will they respond to touch operation??I`ve know that with conventional keyboard method and a second monitor it works OK but I don`t know if FSX+ touchscreen is compatible.I am hoping this will be an alternative to RVInsight`s CDU IIMany thanksGeorge

George: Be careful with where you buy those 7 inch touch screens that they allow returns. I thoght they were very cool looking, too, and I bought one about 6 months ago. The native resolution is very limited -- something like 800 by 440 -- and a lot of software simply will not look right at that size. Yes the touch screen works, but I've abandoned that part as basically useless because of this and use the mini-mon as the main monitor on a 3rd WideFS computer. I have also been able to trick the monitor into thinking it's 1280x764 so that it's completely functional, but I only use it for text dispaly.

Thanks for the advice Chuck which I will certainly bear in mindRegardsGeorge

I'm using 12" touch screen for FMS and theres some display space left for other stuff too. As said, make sure the display supports at least 1024x768 resolution, else you aren't able to use it in FSX in full screen mode.I'm quite happy with my monitor, but i needed to construct a custom stand for it, the one that came with it was so wobbly that using it was a pain.
