February 2, 201115 yr Author Corsair will replace your entire computer if it leaks - and I've personally read of only one confirmed instance of that happening. I've actually modded mine and I can tell you from disassembling it that there's an extremely low chance of it leaking. It's pretty well sealed... erm... was... . Also, I know Corsair is coming out with the h60 soon, so you might want to find more info on that. Its not that I am scared about leaking but isn't it a pain to get working all that?
February 2, 201115 yr My only complaint with the h50 is that the included plastic backplate is cheap, flimsy, and may interfere with some of the circuitry on the back of your mobo. Pick up a Xigmatek ACK-i5361 instead and swap it out with the corsair backplate. You can still use all the other h50 hardware with no problem. Here's a picture of it on my P67A-UD5. Here's a picture of my mod Corey Meeks FS2020 | AMD 7800X3D | ASUS ProArt 4080 Super | ASUS B650E-I Mini ITX | 2x32Gb DDR5-6000 CL32 | DELL 38" U3818DW (3840x1600) | FormD T1 | Thermalright AXP90-47 | Thermaltake Toughpower SFX 1000W
February 2, 201115 yr Author Judge for yourself....Thats it? A little simpler than I thought. There is nothing else to buy? I then might go with an h60 but probably when the new motherboards come in
February 2, 201115 yr Guys, keep in mind that the 2500K with no HT will run much cooler than a 2600K and Vcore will limit OC before temps get too high. There's really not that big difference in performance between the H50 and the 212 anyway
February 2, 201115 yr Thats it? A little simpler than I thought. There is nothing else to buy? I then might go with an h60 but probably when the new motherboards come inYup.. everything is included in the kit. It did take me an hour to install but it was easier than the stock Intel fan. So if any caveats it just takes more time, and unfortunately my case required me to uninstall the motherboard so I could fit the back plate in. I'm sure a few tries and that removable cover to access the motherboard I could do it within 10 minutes just like the video.
February 2, 201115 yr IMO Wouldn't touch those water coolers if noise is a concern and then price goes up and performance way down if you switch the fans out for quieter ones...Here are some guides that may help you compare and see what other alternatives there are...Make sure you read HOW they tested and other details as it all helps with what you plan to do...Notice where the Noctua D-14 is, even with the two fans on low (what about three?)...find the water coolers on that chart...http://www.frostytec...eid=2525&page=5More...compare megahalems to H50 and other water cooler even with two fans a blaze...http://benchmarkrevi...=1&limitstart=3And more...http://benchmarkrevi...d=447&Itemid=38Having tried a lot of these coolers at one time or another as a result from the endless supply care of a special arrangment with Frozencpu.com and have settled on the Noctua with 3 NF-P14 fans running at 900 rpm.Like that H70 but it is just much too loud for what I do, the Noctua with the three fans provideds more than enough cooling power - 4.48 with HT at 1.35 vcore
February 2, 201115 yr Author Don't care about the noise as much when I am actually gaming but when I am web surfing I would like it to be quiet.
February 2, 201115 yr Don't care about the noise as much when I am actually gaming but when I am web surfing I would like it to be quiet. If your the handy type, you can always route the extra fans through a switch that you install on your PC's back panel.Cheers,- jahman.
February 3, 201115 yr Personally I like non-sponsored end user reviews. Check out this review of the Megahalems vs h50. I think his conclusion about sums it up - it all comes down to preference on looks. Also, superbiiz.com has a 15% off promo right now (promo code: KICKOFF) - so you could get the Megahalems for $51 or the Venomous X-RT for $52... of course there was that whole scare with the Venomous X-RT crippling sockets and all... don't know that there was any truth behind that, however. But I guess the Venomous X is also wobbly - which I would find very annoying... so yeah, maybe don't get a "Ven-X"... I'm rambling.Probably the best site for reviews on cooling products: vortez.net h50 review Corey Meeks FS2020 | AMD 7800X3D | ASUS ProArt 4080 Super | ASUS B650E-I Mini ITX | 2x32Gb DDR5-6000 CL32 | DELL 38" U3818DW (3840x1600) | FormD T1 | Thermalright AXP90-47 | Thermaltake Toughpower SFX 1000W

I think his conclusion about sums it up - it all comes down to preference on looks. What "sponsored" reviews? Stacked fans in that amature but honest post do not make for good airflow and creat quite a buz and noise because it just creates turbulance between the two and acts like a wall, but thats a nother subject...as far as H50? I can see that your not trying to joke here and I wont argu but think:Take a look at how many CPU overclocking records there are on air, see how many you find with the acetek/Corsair H seriies compared to the masses of Megas and Noctuas that hold all the records - such as http://www.pureoverc.../story4914.htmlFigure it out...Edit: Another decent review of the much improved H70 vs Noctua DH-14 http://www.overclock...ies-h70-review/ The MegaHalems can easily be compared with the DH-14 up to a point But when the DH-14 is equiped with three fans it pulls ahead enough to say that there is a real advantage with that option that the mega (and or insert your fave cooler here) just doesnt have.
February 12, 201115 yr Author Ok, so I still haven't bought it yet because I still don't see why if I am gonna end up replacing the motherboard but I recieved an email from newegg with 15% off all cpu coolers. I probably should take advantage and buy it now.It seems that the H50-H70 are good DH14 and the hyper 212 +Thinking about buying the H70 because I don't think the H60 is out and the H50 the coupon doesn't work for some reason for it. I can get the H70 for 84 off newegg. Plus I have 50 bucks in rebates coming so I see this as it being 35 bucks.OR I can get the H50(with the coupon not working) for 66$is the H70 20 bucks more worth it?What do you guys thing about it?
February 13, 201115 yr Author NVM...I decided to go with the H50... Hopefully I can at least run Prime 95 and stay under 80C Or play FSX under 70
February 13, 201115 yr The h50 will be fine, but for $20 more the h70 is definately worth it - not to mention that's the lowest price I've ever seen for the h70. It's not too late to cancel and reorder Corey Meeks FS2020 | AMD 7800X3D | ASUS ProArt 4080 Super | ASUS B650E-I Mini ITX | 2x32Gb DDR5-6000 CL32 | DELL 38" U3818DW (3840x1600) | FormD T1 | Thermalright AXP90-47 | Thermaltake Toughpower SFX 1000W

It's not too late to cancel and reorder Hahaha Sounds like I should. After I bought, I kind thought it was stupid to buy it right now if I am gonna wait until the new motherboard comes in. I think then I will cancel get the h70 and some compound like artic silver 5 so I can install it again when I get the new motherboard
