February 11, 201115 yr If someone wanted to build a new PC right now are they supposed to wait for the SB "drama" to pan out or just go with the tried and true i7 930/950?edit: nevermind, I guess from reading other threads it won't be long until SB is back on the shelves. By the time I actually build (I know I know, I made a thread a few months back lol), Microsoft Flight will be out and my new PC will be my old PC *sigh* | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 11, 201115 yr Just follow the SATA restrictions and you should be fine. Sandy Bridge is still the way to go if you can still get the motherboards.

No reason at all other than for the most part Sandy Bridge motherboards and CPUs are no longer available. When spring comes and the new MB's are in the shops, this platform will relaunch like a rocketship making up for lost time and treasure. Just wait, but not too long. With this coming spring will emerge new life, yearnings for renewal, stirrings of the soul and new Sandy Bridges and Bulldozers. Kind regards,
