I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it's possible to set the default runway, and direction, for an airport in AFCAD somehow. I have run across one that seems to be incorrect.Thanks!

Hi,Runway assignments are basically set by wind direction. That can be altered, though. For example, if only one end has an ILS approach then it will be favored until the adverse wind gets quite strong. In IFR weather if only one end has an approach of any kind it will be used no matter the wind.Hope this helps,

That part I do know about but I was under the impression that even with calm winds there was something somewhere that tells the sim which direction to use.

The sim uses a long and complicated scoring system to determine the preferred "winds calm" runway end(s). Some airports have been hardcoded by MS. Did a quick search and found this post. It gives a good indication of the complexity.What airport are you talking about?

KSDM.But, when I tried it again it was correct this time. Maybe just a fluke thing the first try. Seems odd though.
