February 25, 201115 yr Anyone out there who can help: I'm running FS2004 and WIndows XP with plenty of firepower. However, upon downloading and installing aftermarket aircraft into my my aircraft file, none show up. Am I missing a step here or what?? It's been a while since I've done this in FS2000 but never had a problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.Tbird
February 25, 201115 yr Can you provide the complete filename (and where you got it) of an aircraft which is problematic for you?

Did you download from the AVSIM library? You need to give better information than that for anyone to be able to help. You say 'aircraft' file. Do you mean folder?I really get annoyed when people use 'lower caps' for a title. Are these people for real? We are losing standards.Daniel
February 25, 201115 yr Yep, more detail would help. But a common if basic problem is that aircraft don't always show up where you might think in your 'select airdraft' menu. For instance I've got a number of Dash-8s that feature under "Bombardier", "Bombardier (De Havilland)", "De Havilland", "DeHavilland" and "DeHavilland Canada". And Project Opensky models are notorious for this - can be any of "Boeing", "Boeing (Posky)", "POSKY", "Project Opensky" or I dare say others. So it might just be a case of looking more carefully. It's very unlikely to be a PC speed / memory problem. As to the last poster - chill out, will you? The OP was only asking for help, and s/he may not even speak English as a first language; or it could have been just a typing error. You mean lower case, not lower caps, anyway.

"Missing a step" would imply he is doing this methodically, so maybe he can take the time to outline the procedure he is using to place the files into his aircraft folder. [Then we can probably instantly solve his problem]I love to help people but when they are not able to provide specific information it seems to me either they are not interested (really) or there is really no solution they are looking for.Daniel

There really is no need or provocation for these snippy comments you sometimes make.If I posted in the same style/spirit you do, I could say something like:'Give me a break! I suppose your the most experienced simmer there ever was, who knows everything about everything?'It doesn't feel very nice when you have comments like that aimed at you, does it? Try to put yourself in the OP's position, he's come here posting for help without being offensive, snippy or abusive in any form and then receives a post like yours. In his place I'd be pretty irritated.

I'm just allowing my mind to speak......sorry.I think OPA Marshall does it well. No 'sharpness'.......He is an awesome member of Avsim. Thanks for the advice.Daniel
