February 27, 201115 yr Unless you have an "ancient" PC, I don't think that Gamebooster (or similar products) nor defragging has any decernable effects on framerate.I have used two defrag products and two products that shut down "unnecessary" processes, and have never seen an improvement in frame rates, stutters, etc. It's my opinion that they offer more of a psychological effect - "I've done everything that I can to improve frame rates, therefore they surely must be improved."gwillmotI agree, I find that after defragging and using gamebooster with the high end system I have, I don't see any perceivable improvement in FS. But I think it's not a bad idea to have gamebooster close some additional services so that the chances of an unneeded service draining cpu cycles or causing a stutter in FSX are much smaller. The way I see it, it doesn't hurt me to run Gamebooster, so why not run it if may infact be contributing to a smoother experience, however small that improvement may be. And I hardly defrag as much anymore, since my hard drive has so much free space I seldom find the need to other than once a month. Gamebooster would most likely help those with old low end pc's or for those who are inexperienced or technology adverse that they haven't tuned their OS to optimize performance. A.J. Domingo
