I'm a little confused, why ask united to send a 744 from LAX to assist? why not get Qantas or NZ to assist, and why use the worst search and rescue aircraft ever.Edit - I will admit that I had a incredibly stupid moment (note to self, don't post with a hangover) I assumed the aircraft was actually used for the search effort. So I guess they are hauling supply's and people? No USAF C5 galaxy's availble?Regards Rob Prest

February 27, 201115 yr Any flight in the PMDG 747 from the US east coast to Australia/New Zealand is a fun challenge, if you use real world weather. My longest flight in the Queen is LAX to YMML, about 15 hours with just enough fuel for reserves. That kind of route in the non-ER PMDG 747 is living on the edge, just put max fuel, medium passenger/cargo weight, and hope for the best. A.J. Domingo
