March 2, 201115 yr I think Microsoft should release MS Fight as a RC to ensure thorough testing is complete. In FSX I have the London Thames with rapids. Yes the buildings are nice (I have these odd looking castles spotted around the UK which actually look rather odd!) but the textures are a little funny and you should have these fixed before releasing a Gold copy.Hopefully a few things can done like:High resolution textures and cockpits (VC included) of their default aircraft.Scenery to be top notch in at least 20 cities and airports, some city scenery like Toronto and Sydney, New York and London, Singapore and Hong Kong, to be photoreal, with city buildings.Cloud shadows to be implemented and the environment 'darker' under clouds.A good SDK which is easy to use. Like several rail simulators, it should be easy to do some things, like photoreal scenery or airports! How hard can that be? Of course payware developers can still keep in front by developing top notch products. The SDK would be for scenery and aircraft. Hopefully they can include a MCDU, weather radar and TCAS in the SDK so we can have real airline simming.Any other ideas?Like maybe 20 GA airports in high detail.Mountains like the alps in Europe (Swiss), the Rockies and Grand Canyon in photoreal detail. Sounds of aircraft ROARING down the runway. In FS traffic is barely audible and yet you can hear the roar of a jet departing. We all know what this roar sounds like. Bring it to FS.When aircraft are on runway/taxiway please have ground noise, like when the nosewheel of a big jet hits the lights it makes a loud 'bump's noise. The ground ambience as the tyres move along the ground, and on takeoff you can hear when you leave the ground.Flap noise.Better night lighting graphics. I swear that in FS the night lighting is nothing like in real life at airports. In cities too would like to see some real night lighting, specific to area, like photoreal. Don't want to see lights in unpopulated areas where there is no lights. Want to see moon illuminated clouds. Would like the sun to show up on clouds and when a cloud is blocking the sun it would be evident. Do you know what I mean?Daniel
March 2, 201115 yr I thought the Thames rapids thing was fixed in sp1?I certainly don't see it but I have UT Europe installed as well Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
March 2, 201115 yr From the videos, I believe cloud shadows are being implemented. The latest one, "Free" seems to show this quite well. Andrew McCluskey
March 2, 201115 yr I think Microsoft should release MS Fight as a RC to ensure thorough testing is complete.I presume we are months and months away from this being even possible, but even if it were sooner, I have doubts that Microsoft will do that again. Before the FSX demonstration was released, they released a limited access public beta back in the day. One of the major gripes about it was that many of the smaller "bugs" that people wanted corrected were in fact aesthetic or regional issues which didn't translate into being things affecting all simulation pilots. Microsoft did get some performance feedback and compatibility feedback based on the public beta, but overall the limited-release beta for FSX was not a very worthwhile effort and generated more negative sentiments than positive or constructive ones. Public betas are really designed to properly test MASSIVE deployments on a large number of different machines, checking for large glaring compatibility issues or showstopping bugs. Unfortunately, it is usually well past the point of no return for smaller items like the shape of a coastline or the slightly less than perfect way the Cessna 172 stalls. Although I would LOVE to participate in a MS Flight beta or trial, something tells me Microsoft will learn from its mistake with FSX and not release any limited public betas or even a demonstration version.
