P8p67 Replacement board question

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,Am I incorrect to assume that I can just leave my front panel USB 3.0 header hooked up from the originial P8p67 Deluxe? I intend to just swap in the new board and leave that installed. Just want to confirm their were no changes to that piece. Thanks,Dave

Hi Dave,I am not sure if a definitive answer is possible until you get the replacement board and see if there are any differences between the panel layouts. They should be exactly the same, but it is not impossible that ASUS may have made some slight (or major) alteration in the plug-in arrangements. You will likely have to wait and directly compare the original to the replacement part to be absolutely certain.Kind regards,

Thanks I'll take a look. I recd the new MB this morning. I may not get to it until later in the week so we'll see. They did throw in an Asus HS-101 notebook headset. Hopefully it will be good for something.

Mine comes in today if I don't miss the fedex delivery. I'm just wondering if it will have the latest bios (1305) loaded. There should be no changes to the USB 3.0 header as that is separate from the board. All they'll want back is the old board.Best regards,Jim

I haven't swapped the board out yet. I intend to do this weekend at the latest, but wouldn't be surprised if I start it sooner. The new MB contained everything the orginial box came with, so I'd be suprised if we don't have to return one of the headers. As well as the other sata cables etc.

I replaced my board last night. The 1305 bios is already loaded. I got my system back up and running with my fingers and toes crossed everything is okay. So far so good.Best regards,Jim
