RCv43 lagging and sometimes not playing sounds

Featured Replies

Hey,new user of RCv43 here.Took my first flight with it yesterday, together with the RealAir Turbine Duke. It's cool but I noticed sometimes the RC sounds lag behind, and sometimes do not play at all.Like when I press CTRL-SHIFT-K to give the comms to otto, I guess otto should always reply "mine" or "yours". But sometimes, he doesn't, although the RC screen goes to "stand by" and then back to the normal menu.My suspicion that not all sounds are always played are also strengtened by the fact that although I have AI traffic to 40% (and I see a lot of planes in my vincinity in the air, through FS Commander), I hardly ever hear radio chatter with them. Also the pre-recorded chatter, I almost never hear it (it is ticked in the RC menu).I'm on a Core2duo E6600. I know, not the fastest of systems, but still, at FL240 I'm around 30 FPS with a good amount of detail, so I don't think the CPU is the problem here.I've tried setting the FSX process affinity to only CPU1 (and not CPU0), it helps a little but still not satisfactory.Any peeps having similar issues and/or know any solution ? Maybe it is related to the Duke Turbine and its sound system ? I haven't had the time yet to try with another plane. The FSX dedicated HDD is fully defragged...Thanks for any replies.TJ

On another note, I just found out that you can have RC4 run on a WideFS client PC. I have a WideFS and FSUIPC license, so that could be an option. The only thing that "annoys" me is that I read in the manual that the RC4 sounds will then be played on the client PC. This is kinda no-go to me as I play with a headset most of the time where all my sounds go through.Any possible workarounds to have the main FS PC play the RC sounds, yet with the RC process running on the WideFS client ?Thanks

Here are some items that speed up RC response:1. Turn off the random AI Prerecorded Chatter. AI Chatter should remain enabled along with Interact with AI.2. Unless you require it for things such as being hearing impaired turn off the Display Text option.3. If you are an AES user be sure to get the latest revisions to improve performance of your workstation.4. A separate not on the motherboard sound card gives the improves performance for many.As far as a client PC with RC and FS running on the host getting mixed audio out of the host some users have taken the client (RC) line out and fed that into the line in on the host. RC uses on its workstation the .wav mixer, not the FS inbuilt mixer when it comes to balancing FS sound with RC sound both using the .wav mixer if colocated on the same PC. In the case of separate workstations you would in the client/host example on the host you would use your line-in fader for RC and the .wav fader for FS.Some users prefer the FS environment sounds on the host output from speakers and the RC comms on the headsets. It depends on what add-ons are running.
