I love this plane! I have been flying it since it came out for 2k2. But, I have been extremely frustrated by the FS9 version, and the fact that the trim does not seem to work. I have to control pitch with power. Pitch works fine on all other aircraft, so it is not a joystick problem....am I missing a switch or something?More importantly, where are the hotspots for the panel, so that you don't have to go into the overhead menu everytime to open a panel..THIS IS REALLY INCONVENENIENT. I feel that somewhere, there are hotspots....are a fix to add them...What am I missing. Otherwise, using the proper checklists is almost impossible, because panel switching takes forever, particularly with the Radeon flickering. Thanks for the help!P4 2.81024 DDRAM800 Bus36 gig SATA hardrive80 gig harddriveATI Radeon 9700 ProCH yoke/pedalsElite Multi quadrant- serial19" inch monitor-Soundblaster PCI 512Win XPCommercial ASEL- Instrument 292 hoursAOPALawyerPilots Bar Association"Men without dreams are never free, twas thus this way and thus will ever be."

A Ha!! Welcome to the wonderful world of Dash 8 flying!!The elevator trim is a nagging problem that's been discussed at length. Here's the Frolov Dash 8 support forum:www.fscentre.com go to forums, then the Dash 8 forum. A great community and very helpful. A real Dash 8 pilot from Air Canada Jazz is a regular participant. The Dash 8 page is : www.fscentre.com/dash8BTW- how do you like the new FMC?

There are no hotspots on the standard panel, but there is an add on available in the download section of the Dash 8 home page that modifies the panel wiht hot spots. Is that what you are referring to?BlairCYOW

Yes, thank you both! I will look for those. Strangely enough, I feel as if I have mastered the jets, their FMC's, flight planning, procedures, etc. Now I wanted to go back and use some good turboprops, as those are the first planes I would fly if I decided to go to the airlines. Want to get Flight1's ATR oR dash 8 whatever, when it comes out. The FMC is nice! Especially for a freeware plane! Thanks guys!Comm-ASEL Instrument -292 hours

Actually, I have downloaded all of the updates, etc off of Avsim and Dash 8 homepage. Can anyone show me where the hotspots are supposed to be? I can't find them. Thanks, CB

Anyone?Lower left, lower right, upper, lower, where are the daggon hotspots? :)CB

If you've installed the hotspots patch, they're located below the ECU mode switches and the alternate feather switches, those six little black boxes that are already on the panel.from left to right they control:1. Overhead panel2. Throttle3. Pilot's panel4. Copilot's panel5. Center console6. FMCthe warning annunciator hotspot is also included, it's on the windshield post (small little round button), but if you've installed the panel.cfg edit that makes the sub-panels bigger, it'll get covered up by the warning annunciator. I just continue to use the standard Shift-5 to bring that panel up.BTW- you mentioned having to alt-view, instrument panel, in order to bring up the panels. You can use Shift- to get to the panels as well.Shift-2 for overhead panel.Shift-3 for ThrottleShift-4 for Pilot panelShift-5 for annunciatorShift-6 for copilot panelShift-8 for Center consoleShift-9 for FMC.Have fun with it, I don't believe I'm far off the mark when I say this is probably the most accurate systems portrayel yet of an aircraft released for MSFS, and version 2 will only get better. Yes, that includes PIC767!

Thank you so much! But, I think the problem is that there are two dash 8 sites, his old one and a new one. The new one will not allow me to click on the right hand buttons, so I cannot download the patch or navigate that site.http://www.fscentre.com/dash8/is the new onethe old one is http://dash8.fscentre.com/Bottom line, can anyone email the hotspot patch to [email protected]?And Lobeaux, thank you very much for the explanation and the shift key shortcut. I did not know about those. Helps out alot. Where is the panel.cfg edit located to make the panel sizes larger?

Here is a solution that another person had with the same problem with the java buttons you are having. Maybe give it a try.==================================Ok the first thing he should do is go to Start/Run and type Command. When that box pops up type jview at the prompt. This will establish if he has Microsoft Virtual Machine installed and its version number. If an error is indicated VM is not installed and he can get the latest at http://www.saigoninfo.com/mjv_help.htm Hope this helps==================================You can just click on my signature bar below to get to the fanda web site.

To answer the original question about the trim, what worked for me was to go into the Technical page of FSUIPC and uncheck "fix control acceleration". Of course, this requires that you have the registered version of FSUIPC.

As usual, you guys rock. Thanks for the help.. Reanlly enjoying the aircraft and great to see the developer around to help out. I will check the java stuff. Thanks! Now if I can just get the trim issue, we will have probably the best freeware on here since the Falcon....only this panel is probably the best freeware out there! Ciao

"Bottom line, can anyone email the hotspot patch to [email protected]?"On Dash-8 new Home Page: Click on top-left corner "Dash 8-300" red bar.(Shows only Cursor)On Dash 8-300 Page: Scroll down to "Clickable 'Hotspots' For fanda Dash 8 Panel."then click on symbol between photo of panel and the paragraph of copy. Here it comes!Hope this helps,JackD
