Ariane 737 EGPWS not working

Featured Replies

OK. I just got an email from Ariane. It seems that everything should be able to work after I have performed the correct order for turning things on, testing systems, ...etc. Before turning the EGPWS display on, I need to lift up the inhibit guard switch covers. On the overhead panel, you can lift the red guard switch covers in a click. However, some guard switch covers just can't lift no matter how many times I click, whether it is right click or left click, nothing works. I reinstalled 2 times. Does anyone know what I can do to lift the 3 EGPWS guard switch covers and turn on the TERR display on the Captain's ND other than contacting Ariane?
Your choice of course, but if I were you I'd be asking myself if all this hassle is worth it? For the money paid, should I be tolerating all this or will I more-than-likely be better off waiting for the PMDG version? As previously stated, I'd get my credit card company to arrange a full refund and believe me, they'll not reduce your credit limit and no authorities will stop you leaving the country at it's borders because Ariane say so....!That said, if you're happy to persevere with Ariane, I hope you get it all working!Toni.

I actually think that Ariane's ok. Someone signed their name on my support email. I am able to send videos to them for support. Therefore, I'll give the EGPWS one more go at turning it on.

I thought I had a terrain display, a first in FSX.
The makers of the Leonardo MD-80 and the Digital Aviation Fokker might have something to say about that claim as far as airliners go...

As far as I'm concerned, the two add-ons have weather radars, not a terrain display. The only 2 products that I've seen that includes the terrain display are Ariane 737 and the PMDG 737 NGX,, which I want so badly now that I still have nothing. Pressing the TERR button does nothing, unlike the screenshots on Ariane's site. If only PMDG would let me buy their ngx now............I actually don't mind if I got a copy now that isn't complete. I make my own addons. I have no idea what pmdg would say if I emailed them requesting this.

Hi RyanI bought the Leonardo MD80 and I was wrong about my last comment. The aircraft does come with a terrain display. I want to say a big "thank-you" to you. Although the terrain display is accurate, shouldn't it be like the real display and sweep like a radar? The real ones that I've used all have a radar-like sweep and the RAAS. Are there any other addons with a radar-like sweeping EGPWS terrain display?
