March 27, 201115 yr My new parts coming will be my first build with only SATA optical drives/hard drives. Is there jumpers like there was when I used IDE for my optical drives? Or can I just plug the sata cables and power cables in to all 4 drives and call it good? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 27, 201115 yr No Jumpers are needed for SATA. Plug and play my friend. Although, of course you will need to format your hard drives. March 27, 201115 yr Surely depends on content. If storage only - NOIf any sort of executable - YES (and reinstall).
March 27, 201115 yr Author Nope...thought they were all new.No I'm keeping my photo/video backup drive and my, what I like to call "FSX/Acceleration install backup drive." The smaller drive is basically an image of the FS installs so I can install right from my hard drive. I always had issues installing from the original DVD. I'm sure they'll be fine. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
