March 29, 201115 yr I've been looking for a scenery for the Santa Rosa Airport (KSTS) in the Sonoma Valley, California and I found an old scenery designed for FS2002. I was able to install it, however, when I opened FS I found that trees were in the middle of the taxiways and parts of the ramp. I apologize for not being able to insert an image, but, I hope you get the idea. My question is: how do I get rid of the trees?. Is there an easy way to do this?. I am not an expert at designing or working with scenery modifications, other than adjusting parking with the help of AFCAD. Thanks.
March 30, 201115 yr Hello Hernan,The modification that you want has different techniques and depends on whether you are using FS 9 or FS X. In either case, the scenery you installed may have excluded the airport background - this is the grassy area that underlies the runway, taxiways, and aprons and keeps the houses and trees off the airport grounds. You will have to add a new airport background (or create an exclusion polygon) in order to fix the problem. Or you could just not use that scenery.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
June 3, 201115 yr Author Thanks guys,Luis, I like your answer better. I don't think I'll be flying into that airport anyway> I was just checking that airport, as I had a friend who was flying into that airport from LAX on Horizon Air. I was just curious if I could duplicate her flight. :(
