No hits, no miss

Recommended Posts

Hello,I'm a total newbie with Tileproxy. Installed everything and started the program. "Ready for takeoff" is indicated. Then started FSX. No tileproxy scenery to see. Access time = 0.00, hits = 0, miss = 0, preloaded = 14865. When I look in the cache folders (photoreal and cache), there are bmp's and so on. Seems that FSX doesn't see tileproxy scenery. On window tileproxy is indicated "simaulator running" but nothing happens. Disabled digital signature (I guess...). Anyone has a solution. Thanks. Eddy

if running Win7, you would have to disable driver signing. XP, no; Vista ?.Insure TP running BEFORE FSX.Insure TP scenery entries in scenery.cfg and ABOVE all default scenery. Are you using a copy of Ed's .ini modified for your personal setup or the original from the download - original is 'example' and not intended to work as is.Loyd

Hello,I'm running W7 64bit. I suppose driver signing is OK because before I had notification of that in the DOS-window on starting tileproxy. Now notfication is gone.TP is running before FSX, all the circles filling OK.I have th check the scenery.cfg but when I open scenery in FSX I see world folders on top and also the LOD8 scenery is in the scenery (below world files). For installation I used the modified ini. Can't think whats wrong.Thanks.

that 14865 preloaded is interesting (I think). I wonder what is preloaded. Post your .ini and we can take a look-see...cached jpg's can be easily viewed to make sure they're good but the .bmps need something like the Imageviewer that is installed with the SDK - to be sure they actually contain imagery.Loyd

OK, I will post the ini when I get back from work today. Thanks. Eddy

I am a long time experienced user of tileproxy. I am having the identical problem described by the OP. This problem began about March 28. My cache shows that new .jpg files are being created by tileproxy but none are being used by FSX. I moved my aircraft to a new region of the world that I've never flown to or in. I find the new .bgl files created by tileproxy but FSX shows just the default scenery for that area.I am using service 3 and have always had good success with tileproxy. What can I post here to get more help?FSX acceleration Vista 32 Home Premium i5-750 OC to 3.4GHz 4GB memory 8800GTS video 30mbs cable connection to the web

found that scenery.cfg had been corrupted and most of the TileProxy entries such as follows had been deleted. There were no other error messages or warnings from either tileproxy or FSX. [Area.141]Local=G:\TileProxyPhotoRealWorldCache\TileProxy Photoreal World\0001Active=TRUERequired=FALSELayer=141I used a backup copy of scenery.cfg that contained all the Tileproxy entries to make a new copy of scenery.cfg. I restarted tileproxy and FSX. Ttileproxy was then able to talk to and pass files to FSX. The hit and miss statistics returned to normal.**** edited update IMPORTANT ******somehow a couple of my layer= statements in the scenery.cfg that I copied from my backup did not have a valid number value to the right of the = sign. that generated no error message nor any warning message from either FSX or tileproxy BUT - it did prevent tileproxy from moving it's newly created tiles into FSX. I found the new tiles in the cache but they were not being displayed in FSX. There were only four layer=?? errors out of all the tileproxy definitions in scenery.cfg but they prevented ANY tileproxy tile getting into FSX for display *****My scenery.cfg problem occurred when I deleted an addon scenery item. Somehow I lost all the Title= lines in every area and I guess I lost most of the tileproxy entries.
