The printed manuals are just for flight and don't contain specific product options such as failures and anyway, the MEL certainly wouldn't detail PMDG's failure options modeled...

Let me extend OP thoughts I would suggest a failure system based on hours and type of use. If for example you get a new B738 out of Everett and you start turn on and off the electrical HYD pump 20-30 time per minute, connect and disconnect the left generator to the bus 15 times per minutes, then most probably some damage would appear. SamP.S.: for the time being even your default C172 has an hobs meter (engine our counter) C:\Users\<your profile>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\SimObjects\C172 (Windows 7)open state.cfg
