April 3, 201115 yr Hi I am french, so excuse me for my bad english.I have changed my old CPU (phenom X4 955) by a new phenom X6 1100T. So FSX crashes at startup. I have re-installed Windows and FSX and it's the same thing. So I have do a last test, with desactivate 2 cores in the motherboard bios, and miracle, FSX runs !!!Do you think that is normal that FSX doesn't work with 6 cores under windows XP (SP3) ?I am very desapointed .Thanks for your responses.Fdd Francois

April 3, 201115 yr What crashes exactly? (check your event viewer, it logs info about this sort of things) have you overclocked your x6?
April 3, 201115 yr Author FSX does not start. There is the splash screen while few seconds and the program stop. No error message, no log.CPU is not overclocked. So if I turn off two cores in bios, FSX works fine.If I let the 6 cores activate, It doesn't run; But, If I set the FSX affinity quickly in the taskmanager only on 4 cores when It start, no problem. I can set core 0,1,2,3, or 1,2,3,4 or 2,3,4,5 , It works fine. If I let 6 cores -> Crash (and again if I let 5 cores).FSX doesn't want more than 4 cores under my XP :( I have forgotten to say that is the same thing with FSX only , FSX + SP1 and FSX + accelration pack. April 3, 201115 yr Try adding to your fsx.cfg:[JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=62 OR 3062 is for 5 cores.30 is for 4 cores.
April 3, 201115 yr Try adding to your fsx.cfg:[JOBSCHEDULER]AffinityMask=62 OR 3062 is for 5 cores.30 is for 4 cores.4 cores = 155 cores = 316 cores = 63:biggrin:and yes, that's a good idea
April 3, 201115 yr 4 cores = 155 cores = 316 cores = 63:biggrin:and yes, that's a good ideaDario, I obviously omitted the first core as per most of tests and recommendations :Straight Face:
April 3, 201115 yr Dario, I obviously omitted the first core as per most of tests and recommendations :Straight Face:ouch! my bad
April 4, 201115 yr Author I have already added the [Jobsheduler] in my fsx.cfg. I have used 15, 30, 63 value. Same thing.I think that FSX read the Jobsheduler when you start flying, This setting is not read by the application in the begining; Fsx crash before.I search on the net and I don't found a simer with the same configuration that me (phenom x6 and windows XP).
