November 25, 200322 yr Can anyone tell me how to generate a *.txt file in AFCAD v2.04, please?I have been trying to add EGHE to the list of airports in AOM but without success. EGHE does not appear in the World Aero Data listings. EGHE is included in FS9 scenery. I have tried typing in the lat/long/elev in the Airport Data fields of AOM Airports window with EGHE showing but AOM will not accept it. I have installed an AFCAD2 file 'AF2_EGHE.bgl' in the FS9 Addon Scenery/Scenery folder. I have tried to import this using the AFCAD button in the AOM Airports window without success. AOM Help says to import the *.txt version of the AFCAD file. I have AFCAD v2.04 installed and I can not find a way of generating a 'txt' file, I have read AFCAD Help. AFCAD displays the 'Stock' and 'Mod' versions of EGHE without problem. I have posted a similar message in the AOM web-site forum but nobody has responded.
November 25, 200322 yr Hi,AFCAD2 cannot create a txt file, only a bgl file. The txt file they are referring to is from AFCAD 1 for FS2002, which handled this kind of data completely differently. You can get the data for this airport by double clicking the pink dot in AFCAD2, and then writing this info down. You will then have to add the airport manually in AOM, if that is an option.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
November 26, 200322 yr Hi TomThanks for the reply. I have tried just typing the lat/long/elev data into the appropriate AOM fields but AOM won't accept them. Might try generating an AFCAD1 type text file manually :-( now that you have kindly told me how to extract positional info from AFCAD2.Best wishesDon Rowley
November 26, 200322 yr Author You have to edit the Airports.txt file which is located in the SceneryWorldScenery folder. Use TTools to compile after you've added the airport. Be sure and use the proper format. I believe it's in the format N 39* 38.19' W85* 34.30'. Note that the * indicated "degrees" and that the minutes are in decimal. Not minutes and seconds as shown in FS9. I.e., 38'11' equals 38.18' (11/60=.18333).Steve
