April 10, 201115 yr I thought I would point out for those that might not otherwise notice,Wilco is offering a package deal on the new purchase of Evolution vols1 and 2 together, either in download or in CD version. Its a pretty nicesavings if you don't already own these products, take a look:http://www.wilcopub.com/index.php/simulator-add-on/airbus-jetliners-collection-airbus-series-evolution-vol-1-vol-2.htmlWish I'd had this deal back when I purchased the originals :( Jack F. April 10, 201115 yr From the 150+ post about the Airbus Evolution, $70 still seems to much to pay for a such a buggy product. Ron Yan | i5 2500k | AMD Radeon HD6850 | 4GB Corsair XMS3
April 11, 201115 yr I wouldn't TAKE 70 bux from Wilco to install it. Knowing them it would screw every other addon up too. Guys guys, save your money. Seriously, I bet 10 dollars wouldn't still be a deal with this thing.
April 11, 201115 yr From what I have read about Evolution, it is to be avoided as it causes more issues than what it is supposed to fix.The original version does have some bugs, but they are issues I can deal with. Do some research before purchasing evolution and make up your own mind. VATSIM: P2 | I1
April 12, 201115 yr Author When it comes to the vol 1 upgrade, which is all thatI've purchased so far... I think I will upgrade 2 as well but have not yet, but on the first I have seen only oneminor regression, in the FMS, and given the major fixes they've done in the same area I can live with it. Havealready filed a bug, er support form :(, with Wilco. The problem is on the INIT page you cannot start off justentering a FROM/TO set of airports, that invokes a NULL pointersomewhere and crashes the sim. I have a habit of doing this, and then going to each AIRPORT to enter the runway, SID, STARetc, and build up the flightplan. But its simple enough to justhave a simple core plan you load into the sim, then import intothe FMS, and once that is done THEN you add in the SID and transition, and so on... This works around the problem. But having the SID/STAR's parsed correctly and filteredcorrectly by runway, which DOES work, is very nice. I have not yet encountered anything which I consider a reason for the new purchaser wanting to get an Airbus packagefor the first time NOT to buy Wilco, sure you can wait forsome future product, but if you want something today and youwant to program your SID in the cockpit when you get the runwayassignment (RNAV SIDs that vary by each runway you know), thenWilco is your choice. People tend to be like a pack of hounds, one howls and before you know it they all are, except er, 9 outof 10 of them have never purchased, they just enjoy howling Jack F.
