April 11, 201115 yr Hi. I have installed this, but not as yet run the configuration programme to set up the files. I have been told that this will help turn inland water textures from their current blue/turquoise, so something a bit more realistic. See this thread:http://forum.avsim.net/topic/331964-ultimate-terrain-waterclass/I know I can choose what to install and what not to install, but I already have Flight Environment, Ground Environment Pro, Ultimate Terrain (all) and Airport Environment Upgrade (8) installed and I don't want Real Environment Pro to overwrite textures I already like (though I do have a backup, and REPro will make its own backup in addition).I just wondered, compared to the software I just mentioned, if anyone who has Real Environment Pro too may have any comments as to what its strengths are - what are the 'must' installs from REPro, even with the other software installed into FS9?Thanks,Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
April 12, 201115 yr Hello Martin,I have used Real Evironment Pro (REP) before REX came out, mainly because of the nice watertextures (the dark ones for the European aerea) and the enhancement it provides to GE Pro, which proves that REP works (very) well with GE Pro. Can't comment on the other add-ons, but I guess that only Airport Environment files might be overwtitten by REP files which are related to airport lighting/pavement etc. So as long as you don't check that option, I assume you are OK. Anyway, it's wise to make a backup of your current FS texture folder; then you can roll back if you want.Regards,René René Bongers
April 12, 201115 yr Author Hi. Thanks - what are the enhancements you select to complement GE Pro?M Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
April 12, 201115 yr Hi. Thanks - what are the enhancements you select to complement GE Pro?MWhen you hover the cursor over the "3D Environment bitmap" in the opening sceen, you see an example for GE Pro. Checking this option gives the terrain an enhanced 3D look, "more bumpy, grassy and overall more realism" as it says in that picture.Regards,René René Bongers
