To Ken Wood about Legacy

Featured Replies

Hi KenI see you did post some questions on Simvol about Legacy compatibility with FlyII aircraftThere have been a lot of new developpement concerning the aircraft cockpit in order to support large resolution like 1980 * 1200So we had to introduce new ways like using texture rotation for needles, and use the full OpenGL potential to make tings runing faster. This permit now to animate a gauge with only one picture rather than the old way of supplying 360 pictures (one per degre)and computing a frame numberHowever our goal was also to maintain compatibility with some previous aircraft, but we have lack of time to achieve this for the current release. It means that we probably miss some points here and there for previous aircraft to work with this release. Now it would also be nice if we could update those aircraft to work with the new gauge design, and we certainly need some help in this area.Anyway, we will look in this matter somewhere along the line, though actually, I cannot give a firm timeline. If you have more question, or would like to work (why not) in this migration process, please feel free to mail [email protected]

Hi Jean,Thank you for the reply. I most certainly would llike to get the Seawind into Legacy, so I will contact you shortly for more information. And if I do well with Seawind, will certainly be more than happy to help with other aircraft. :biggrin:Merci' !Ken
