April 18, 201115 yr Hi All,I am a cockpit builder and I am trying to wire up all the lights and backlighting as much as the real thing B737-800. Since there is a lot of knowledge in these forums I have the following questions:1) Is there any light source in a cold and dark environment? Perhaps only the dome lights?2) What light sources are available with battery power only? Are the flood lights (MIP, AFDS and Aft console) available? 3) I presume that the backlighting is available when there is an AC power source, (GND, APU, GEN).If somebody could shine his or her light on this I would be grateful, as I cannot find any of this in the FCOM.Best regards,--pim Pim van Vrijaldenhoven
April 19, 201115 yr I'm no expert, but I would think that it would be just like a car. I would GUESS that all lights would be availble as long as you are connected to the battery. I couldn't imagine being able to turn on the lights if battery power isn't connected. But again, this is all a guess.
April 19, 201115 yr Yeah, like Jeremy, I have no experience. I'm taking this from the PMDG 747.1) No, it is cold and dark, so no lights. The pilots have to resort to flashlights.2) Once the battery is on, I think all the lights are available.3) The APU or GND sources have the same effect as the battery (except they don't run out), so all the lights would be good to go. April 19, 201115 yr Commercial Member There's an auxiliary bulb collocated with one of the dome lights that runs off the hot battery bus, but it's part of the emergency lighting system so I'm not sure whether you'd use that except in an emergency. Nick Collett i5 2500k @ 4.4GHz, GTX 480, 8GB Corsair 8-8-8-24, 300GB WD Velociraptor, Corsair HX850W
