April 20, 201115 yr Hi i'm going to buy a PNY 570GTX VGA card for 270 € or 390$ should i buy it and how it works with fsx ?Thanks for suggestions Marco Negri
April 20, 201115 yr For about 260€, i buyed a GTX480 SuperOC, and it runs same than a GTX580 stock ... GTX480 is a beast, and now is very well price ...Don't expect more FPS in FSX ... Only you can put more AA/AF. Regards José Fco. April 20, 201115 yr Author I've read comparison about 570 and 480 normal and 570 seems to be litter better with minor power impact. I have a 280 now and i'll sell it to a friend for 200 € so no fps improvement compared to my old card?I change it also because i use other games not only fsx. Marco Negri
April 20, 201115 yr Yes, the 500 Series are more cool, and lower power impact. (Theorically)In other games, yes, you'll notice a big improvement. I had a GTX285 before buy the 480. For example, i'm playing NFS Shift 2, with all settings to max, totally smoothness.I'm flying DCS A-10C Warthog with all settings to max, totally smoothnessI'm very very happy with 480. Run very fast ... It's a very good Price/Quality!PD: The Sandy Bridge 2600K helps a lot ... :( José Fco. April 20, 201115 yr Well I think you are heading in the wrong direction... Don't get a VGA card which is already outdated for at least a decade. Go instead for a SVGA card. You will get much better graphics and get more than 256 colors.... OK I leave... :( Greg too much, too soon....

April 20, 201115 yr :( Eh???GTX480 is a decade outdated card? You missed the joke! The VGA (video graphics display) term has been thrown around in this thread. VGA is an old graphics standard with lower resolutions and only a 256 color palette. It's also an over 20 year old standard... ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
