Web enabled flight tracker?

Featured Replies

I'd like to be able to track the progress of my flights via some sort of web portal similar to the way Aerosoft's Airbus X simconnect tool does, but only with more detail. Has anyone come across a tool that will do this? I don't want something hosted elsewhere as I have all the technical means to do it myself. (i.e I'm not interested in portals like simfly.eu)Thoughts?

If you don't already know how, I suggest filling in a flightplan on skyvector and using your FMS or VOR/DME equipment in conjunction with the skyvector charts. This way you will learn how to navigate and track flight progress like it is done in the real world. Otherwise, this is probably what you are looking for: http://www.juergentreml.de/programming/fsx-google-earth-tracker

Personal tracking is one thing, but I want to share my flights with anyone who visits my website. Similar to the way simfly.eu does, but without all the sign up sign in hassles. Make sense?

You could for example use FSAcars, it has built in data logging and an upload module as well, im not sure if they have an example website you could modify tho, but it shouldnt be too much work if you really want to do something like this. There are also other acars programs that have similar functionality that is used by many virtual airlines, for example kAcars and xAcars

Thanks. Definitely a good start in the right direction.
