To add even more confusion, China and Mongolia are two of the last hold outs for requiring flight levels in meters versus feet. Not sure WHY that is, but it must be annoying flying over either country and having to do conversions.

Took me a hot minute to figure this out as well, but once I did it was pretty easy. 1. Dial in the freq to the ILS runway on both NAV1 and NAV2 in the FMS TUN screen (only one is needed, but I do both out of practice) 2. Click the NAV/BRG button (next to the BARO button) and set your NAV source and BRG source as VOR1 3. If done correctly, you'll see the LOC1 in green on the PFD 4. Dial the CRS button to the correct course for your RWY. 5. Click the APR button The plane will capture the glidescope and begin descending on it's own.

This whole 'not following waypoints in the FMS' has been a persistent bug with several Carenado AC as of late. Fortunately flight following isn't affected by this bug, but it is annoying. My first flight in this bird was a mid-range flight which included sid/star/waypoints and it worked fine. My second flight was shorter and only had a sid with a transition point (no star, no additional waypoints) and the FMS wouldn't move through the waypoints as I would expect. It's an issue I've just learned to live with since Carenado can't seem to get it right.

I probably know the answer to this question, but is this thing now flyable, or do we need to wait until 1.2?

Yeah.. I know the 700 can do 5000+nm with aux tanks and 48 pax. I'm assuming something close to that is possible with the 900. In any event, it's worth a try.

You might take a look at QSimPlanner (freeware) which does a good job giving you derates and flex temps for the 737/747/777. Cheaper than topcat and does pretty much the same thing.

What's the longest flight (in hours and nautical miles) you've been able to accomplish with the 900ER and aux tanks? It looks like at full fuel, you can get 53000lbs of juice. If you simulate a BBJ3, your load out should get you at least 60 pax with 4200lbs of cargo without exceeding MTOW. I've been struggling to find any range maps for the ER AND aux tanks, so it's impossible to really tell what max range should be. I'm pretty confident you can do longish haul transatlantic flights if you're departing from the east coast, but I'm curious about central US departures (say KDAL->EGKK which is roughly 4300nm). Thoughts?

Thanks. I reconfigured my assignments on the throttle quad and this worked.

At least in P3D 4.4, I'm 0/0% on the throttles and condition levers and still can't get things shut down. I hover over the red cut offs and get a hand pointer with the tool tip, but I can't do anything. I get an Engine 1 shutoff (shutoff) on the left and Engine 2 shut (On) on the right as pop up tool tips.

Anyone know how to shut down the engines properly? Fuel cutoff seems to be bugged in 1.3 at least.

They do for me as I don't have AS.

Hate to resurrect an old thread, but with the latest release of the MaddogX (1.5 b493), I'm seeing similar behavior with the AT on take off. With the Saitek hardware, I advance to 1.4, hit the AT and the throttle moves to the correct position, but eventually the throttle moves back to the position I left it in within the Sim, even though I haven't touched the hardware. There's some similar wonkiness happening with ILS and autoland. The throttles seem to go manual every time and don't ignore the hardware position as they should.

I've noticed this on the 690B and the Shorts recently, too. Something has changed that jacks with the AP on Carenado turboprops (doesn't seem to affect the jets or my modded B200/B350)

Isn't it like only 2 guys that make up the whole of Carenado? What's ridiculous is how big of a deal they're making about the 'rotating beacon light' model when so many more important things are needing attention with this bird.
