Gear lights

Featured Replies

Topic says it all. :-) Running 1.40 with the 16:9 panel mod. After takeoff and the gear is put up, the red gear warning lights remain on. No hydralic probs and when coming in for landing, all gear function normally and return to green/down and locked status on gear down. Running FSX Accel with SP2. Clues?-Rick

What kind of throttle setup do you have? If you are using a single throttle lever, make sure you have it mapped to throttle axes 1 & 2 (or to "all" throttles) in FSUIPC. The red gear lights illuminate any time either throttle axis is in idle and the gear are not down and locked. If the #1 throttle isn't mapped to #2, then the gauge may be seeing the #2 throttle position at idle.If FS sees just a single throttle axis, it will apply the throttle #1 axis setting to all engines, but it does not change the other throttle axis settings. The FSUIPC throttle mapping feature actually clones the axis setting to the other axis or axes.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

I have the same Problem Both Engine Full Thrust Gear is up, and Red Gearlights on :-(. CH-Yoke Single Throttle lever but Both Throttles 100% in the Panel. 16:10 PanelHave Check again on my Normal Panel Cfg. the Normal Panel, no Problems gear up and no lights.I use the FS9

Have you done the throttle mapping in FSUIPC as described above? As I explained above, if there is only one throttle axis detected, FS will apply the one available throttle axis setting to all the engines...but it does *not* go back and set a value in the #2 throttle axis when doing this. When the panel reads the #2 axis value to determine if the gear light should be illuminated, it sees zero. The way to fix this is to use FSUIPC's ability to map the #1 throttle input to the other axis. In the FSUIPC joystick calibration tab, page one, there's a checkbox "Map to 4 throttles." Select that option, and the problem should go away.RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO
