FSX locks to taskbar on load in windowed mode

Recommended Posts

For some unknown reason my FSX install is locking to the taskbar on load into windowed mode. While this can be readily fixed (shift plus right mouse click then select maximise) it is kinda annoying and never used to do this. On the other hand it doesn't lock to the taskbar on load if the sim is shut down in fullscreen mode (which I don't usually use). I suspect some Windows 7 quirk but this has only recently happened and I have had windows 7 for over nine months. Any suggestions appreciated.Bruceb

No solutions other than what you are doing. I also have had the same issue over and over again, randomly sometimes it locks and I have to unlock it. I also found that I could just click alt enter and switch between windowed and full screen mode and that would unlock it.

FS could be in windowed mode but the window is positioned off the screen, this can happen if you've had 2 monitors connected. So it looks like it's only in the taskbar but is actually open - you can right click and select move and then try moving the window with the arrow keys. that the only advise I can give. good luck
