Second FSX installation

Featured Replies

Hi, I don´t know whether this had been asked in the past, but I just want to know how to get a second plain FSX installation fo testing with FSXMark11 without loosing my current installaion. I´ve just ordered my SB upgrade, so it´s time to prepare and get some comparable results. I hope someone can give my a simple guide how to do it.

Best regards, Steffen

Easiest way is to choose a 'custom install' and then pick a different drive. By default the installation utility aims for your primary (usually C) drive, so all you do is choose a different drive. The only thing you then have to watch for is to steer anything you install manually to whichever FSX install you want it in.Note that legally (according to the EULA) you should really have two copies of the program to start sticking multiple installs of FSX on the same computer even though it is possible to do it without two copies. Frankly it is worth having another copy of FSX though because it is not expensive these days and if your FSX disks go U/S, you'll still be okay in future.Al

I know that this is not the full legal way, but I won´t use it in any way. Just to make some tests.
