April 29, 201115 yr I have always had FS on a separate "e" drive for reasons posted in the forums.I think my e drive just took a dive. The computer is 4 years old and I am biding my time waiting for the possibilty of newer version of FS or at least to get thru the summer when I rarely use it.Then I may upgrade.I have lots of room on my c drive so i am thinking of just eliminating e drive for now . Is there a noticeable advantage to have FS on separate drive? Thanks,Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
April 29, 201115 yr Two separate drives are always faster than a single drive: While one drive is busy doing stuff for the OS, the second drive can be busy with FSX ad a third drive could be loading photoscenery. You get the idea.Cheers,- jahman.
April 29, 201115 yr I use the same VRap for both FSX and Win 7. It's not that big of a deal really. Just defrag once a month or something and you'll be ok

Just defrag once a month or something and you'll be okThanks for the replies.I lucked out.It was just a loose connection on my e drive. My system is old but it works fine for what I do.IF they ever come out with a newer FS of some sort I will upgrade. That is what i used to do.Every other new FS would mean an upgrade.Ron Bring back Chief Illiniwek!University of Illinois.
April 30, 201115 yr ...It was just a loose connection on my e drive....Good point! With a faulty or non-starting PC, most folks forget (myself included!) to sequentially unlug and re-plug all connectors, including RAM modules (and excluding the CPU).Cheers,- jahman.
