747-400, is it really that inefficient?

Recommended Posts

No, it is high time for you to show some independence and start finding things on your own we are not going to baby sit you every step.Under Boeing/commercial aircraft you select an airplane e.g. 747, then go to technical information and then download detailed technical info. And then you will get a PDF doc with tens of very interesting plots - this is all a wealth of advanced info - for someone like you who wants to be a 747 pilot that should be just a heaven - so please don't come back asking for more instructions. If your dream is to fly 747 you are old enough to show ability to dig into the stuff and get used to making an effort finding, understanding and playing with the data.

The 747 is also a tad faster than the 777, so in the same amount of time it can go further. But, putting that aside, there are people who spend lots of time calculating the right ratio of cost to time to operating reserve and ticket sales, etc., to determine what plane they should use or purchase or retire.
