May 18, 201115 yr - and which one do you use now tolip2, and why?I'm planning to do a longer writeup on this some day, including a comparison of SoftTH, widefs and multiple FSX views. The very short version is that I think surround mode and eyefinity are very similar in many ways. I think it pretty much comes down to if you're an Nvidia fan or an ATI fan. When configured correctly they will both give a really nice performance at very high resolutions. For my personal setup it was convenient that you can connect an additional (fourth) monitor to the single ATI card even when running three screens in eyefinity mode, but when using Nvidia surround mode you need an additional (third) graphics card to use additional monitors (even though there are physical connectors left on the cards). Eyefinity requires you to use at least one displayport and my monitors don't have that, and like many others I had bad luck with a couple of DP->DVI converters before finding a good one. I'm currently using surround mode.It was quite a while since I tried th2go (digital edition). It was a simple and cheap solution (if it can handle your monitors, it's pretty picky about that) but it was limited to 5040x1050 resolution. Haven't tried the displayport edition so I can't comment on that one.
May 18, 201115 yr Thanks tolip2, more pieces to the puzzle! Will you pls. enligthen a non-english speaker about this: "Eyefinity requires you to use at least one displayport and my monitors don't have that" What do you mean by that? My LG has 1 DVI, 1 HDMI and 1 VGA, would that be OK for Eyefinity?
May 18, 201115 yr Hi PFL,I use (3) 1280 x 1024 monitors (giving 3840 x 1024 on my 6970 Eyefinity) that only have DVI and VGA connectors.I have the monitors connected to the (2) DVI connectors and (1) MiniDP with a passive DVI-MiniDP connector (paid $15 NCIX). Everything works fine. May 18, 201115 yr Thanks Glen, VGA, HDMI, MiniDP, DVI-MiniDP, DVI, I´m too old for this stuff I think, but we have Google: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-displayport-adapter.htmAm I the only one confused here, please??
May 18, 201115 yr Keep in mind that for a TH2GO configuration with 3 x 1920 x 1080 monitors, you will have to use the DisplayPort version of the TH2GO, which entails either having DP-capable monitors (not universally available, especially on smaller or older displays) or a ~$100 DP-to-DVI converter for each of the monitors...That depends on how much current the TH2Go has available to drive the outputs. See my next reply.Looks like Eyefinity is the way to go then, TH2Go is troublesome and expensive IMO, can buy a good AMD Radeon card for the price...Yes, but Eyefinity cards have only enough current to drive two passive MiniDP to DVI converters ($5 each), so you will need one of the more expensive ($100) active MiniDP to DVI converters.I'm not sure what you're trying to say with this. Of course you can have a single VC window with dual Nvidia cards in surround mode.Head-tracking software works equally well with th2go, eyefinity and surround mode (I have tried all of them).Yes, but with two video cards you also get the stutters! Remember, for FSX on video card good, two video cards bad. :-)Question : I never went the multimoitor VS route for fear of windscreen support columns fighting the monitor bezels. Have you found that bothersome? Or am I just making excuses not to get a second monitor for VC?Cheers,- jahman.

I'm limiting the FPS externally to 35 with the "Antilag" tool and everything is very smooth.
