May 22, 201115 yr I flew in a Tarom ROMBAC1-11 in Apr 1990 from Bucharest to Heathrow. My last 1-11 flight :-( Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

May 25, 201115 yr Hi Gavin. I didn't realise they were flying them as late as that. Tristan.Things were a bit of a mess then, still had a transitional government, still had tanks/troops on the streets in Bucharest, even saw a few bullet holes in the windows at Otopeni. I flew over in a Tarom 707 (last 707 flight as well) and when we had taxied up to the terminal, we were surrounded by armed troops. All very exciting stuff. The Tarom fleet appeared to be a bit of a mish-mash then. They even had a few Tupolevs I belive. I've been a fan of Romania ever since though and love going back - last time 2 summers ago. Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
