Looking for some KSEA Scenery

Featured Replies

Hey Everyone! I've been looking for some good KSEA scenery for a long time. It seems that developers neglect that airport. If you know of any developer that has KSEA for FSX - For sale/out for freeware, considered for another project, or being worked on.I know about:FlyTama (FS9 KSEA)ORBX ( Not focusing on KSEA, but has scenery for Seattle)MegaScenery (No... just not using that.)Any help would be appreciated! Thanks everyone! =)

Unfortunately, aside from what you mentioned there is no KSEA scenery for FSX at this time. However, on the FlyTampa forum someone did post a KSEA FS9 convertion to make it work in FSX, the only thing is that there are a few transparency issues and it uses a regular ADE file so there is no custom ground textures like there would be if it was made for FSX.Here's the link to the conversion with the ADE file if you already own the FS9 version: http://www.flytampa.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4434On a side note though, either Martin or George of FlyTampa said recently that they are seriously considering remaking the airport for FSX due to all the requests they get for it, the only thing is that George is working on Athens at the momement and Martin is rumored to be redoing Dubai, so it will probably be sometime before a new KSEA surfaces.Probably your best bet would be to use ORBX PNW with the ADE that it comes with as it includes the 3rd runway that the default KSEA is missing. Or, you could download one of the freeware KSEA ADE files from here in the Avsim library. Not long ago John Venema from ORBX said that they might release some newer Seattle downtown buildings and scenery, much like what they did with the city of Portland, that will help boost FPS in the area. If I remember right, he also said that KSEA might be in their future plans, but then again if FlyTampa does it first then they would probably skip it.

Seattle and KSEA is one of the detailed cities/airports that comes with FSX Deluxe. I think ORBX and Microsoft did an excellent job on KSEA and may be another reason why other developers, like FS Dreamteam, FlyTampa, and others, are not in a hurry to spend their resources on this airport (to my knowledge). Why don't you buy something like Airport Studio from Flight1 and/or Airport Facilitator X and enhance the already excellent renditions even more? There's also lots of KSEA mods right here in the AVSIM Library and other websites that you can link to from the following excellent link: http://www.freewarescenery.com/fsx/us.html .Hope this helps!Best regards,Jim
