May 26, 201115 yr Just wondering if anyone has experience with the open box deals at newegg... I saw that they still would allow a return within 30 days, but the other policies on missing accessories and satisfaction (lets say, on a monitor, I find 2 dead pixels) has scared me away. I'm finding good deals on monitors and motherboards. If this build is going to be for the next 5 years, maybe just buy new? May 26, 201115 yr It's a risk... One that I've taken twice. I received a motherboard and ALL components+ original packaging like new. A head set as well. I've had nothing but good experiences! If you're ordering open box, be prepared to pick up accessories else where, I guess. Though I wasn't and didn't have to.Newegg has their stuff together! ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
May 28, 201115 yr Personally I have never gone open box, the concept scares me a bit, however if the deal was good enough I might give it a go.I will vouch for Newegg; top notch service and I could not imagine them ever giving you a hard time over a return or warranty. I bought a B2 board from Newegg and with the Intel chip issue, Newegg were proactive in contacting me. They assured me all the way through it that they would take care of it. They offered my money back. Then when the B3 version boards released they shipped the new board ahead or requiring the old board to be returned so I had virtually zero downtime between swaps.Newegg are great. May 28, 201115 yr I got an open box GTX285 one and half years back. No problem whatsoever. Not Newegg, local dealer though... concept doesn't scare me a bit, as long as I have the warranty.
