June 1, 201115 yr Hello everyone this is my first post on here sorry if it seems a little "in too deep" but I need a little help. I've been playing simulators for as long as I can remember now and quite simply been amazed at the amazing details that have been implemented into them. As well as 3rd party software. I remember using freetrack and making my own head tracking device for the ARMA and FS series which was great. and my first addon I bought ever was recently the Ifly 737NG which is amazing to say the least it amazes me how such a complex addon works so well on my fairly low performance pc I am running the fs9 version so I guess thats cheating a little haha. But the real reason Im here is because I much prefer buying boxed versions of addons and every game store around me never sells them its unfairly ignored where I live so getting the latest boxed version of games and addons is tricky this is why I am embarking on my biggest flight simulator and simulator project yet! As an 18 year old I know first hand getting a job aint easy so I spend a lot of time enjoying my hobbies which is simulation so I am in the process of combining the two and opening the uk's first exclusive simulation based store Im currently in the planning phase I am hoping to get some help from local schemes and was wondering if there was a special store that had every latest addon and peice of hardware available? Another question how many people here are from the north east of the UK? :)
June 1, 201115 yr I vasttly prefere buying add-ons on-line (instant download, huge selection, compact storage on-disk, much much much faster install or re´-install), no sales tax, no waiting for the post to deliver the box or worse, having to go to a store to buy the add-on.Oh, and did I say the install/re-install was much faster? :Big Grin:Cheers,- jahman.
June 2, 201115 yr I do prefer buying online, for instant gratification, provided the files aren't too big. I've got DSL broadband with a monthly download limit, so gigabyte-sized files would tend to eat into that. Cable-connected folks maybe don't have that problem so much.Generally I like to have a boxed disk + paper manual + any extras for games and sims, but would rather download add-ons.Are you thinking of opening a real-world store? If I were you I'd start small, maybe with a weekly market stall, before pouring money into such a venture. You will certainly be competing with online stores whose products will inevitably be cheaper due to lower overheads. You need to test the market first.Best of luck!
