June 10, 201114 yr Hi there....New J41 owner here....The engines were up and running at some point, but I accidentally cut off the fuel (itchy mouse). Now, when I turn the START MASTER to LEFT GND and press LEFT ENGINE START, there are 2 very short clicks, the START light comes on then goes off.Obviously missing a step. Here's a pic:Thanks!Mark Mark Harris ESA1178 Senior Captain http://www.eurostar-aviation.ch/
June 10, 201114 yr Where were the condition levers when you cut the fuel? Also, did you unfeather the prop before trying to restart?
June 10, 201114 yr Author Hi Sean....Condition were in the middle of the console. No did not unfeather......Where should the condition levers be when restarting?Mark Mark Harris ESA1178 Senior Captain http://www.eurostar-aviation.ch/
June 10, 201114 yr They should be in idle, but the unfeathering is key. I suggest you read the Startup Guide . By keeping them feathered, you are placing too much of a load on the engine while it is trying to start.
June 10, 201114 yr Have you reloaded the aircraft? Or now you can't start the engine's up no matter what you do?Avionics should be off during start...With the avionics you're already drawing a lot of amps...GPU can't do a start and have the avionics on...although I'm not sure if this makes a difference in the simulation.Your manual switch is in the normal position...that's good...i'm a little stumped.I'm not too sure what could have "Cut the fuel". The only way you can do this is by lifting the cover on the stop switch and pressing stop...or by moving the condition levers to feather...or did you actually press those shut off buttons in red.Try a manual start. Ensure props are on the locks (unfeather pump), Turn the manual start switch to Energize. Set start master to left or right. Press Start switch. @10% turn manual switch to IgniteTurn to 60% upon reaching 60%. Then back to normal...see if that does anything. Patrick Houghton
