Probably similar to same problem I had. Mine was because I had to have a hard drive replaced. I use to run traffic at 25-30 %, real world traffic (w/ updating), Ultimate Terrain. My settings were all set high for display settings ... 1400 x 800 or so. I've updated everything, did some tweaking, and finally bumped my memory to 4 Gig (3.25 Windows XP). Now I have most settings at medium low, traffic at 10 %, most everything scaled back. And I still get garbled sound, FPS sometimes drop to 1 or 2 per second. My system right now ...Dell Optiplex 745, 2.8 gigahtz processor, 4 Gig memory, 500 Gig HD, Nvidia GeForce 8500GT with 1 Gig memory.Have ordered a Nvidia 520GT ... this has faster processing and supports DirectX 11 & OpenGL 4.0. Two things that I can think of...FS9.cfg and Windows XP services...check those.Mark
