December 13, 200322 yr OK, I'm going nuts. I'm trying to get this baby going. It installs fine but as soon as I try to load up the aircraft, FS2002 just freezes. No errors. Any ideas? Can't even get to the point to try to register it.Still waiting for "account activation" for the SSW forum just to post a question, that's why I thought I'll try here too. Very frustrating experience all around, except for paying for it. That went perfect.
December 13, 200322 yr Make sure to start up FS in windowed mode. I registration screen will then pop up. After you register, you can go to full screen.
December 13, 200322 yr Hello,I have been flying and LEARNING the SSW bus for a few weeks. It is a very intense experience. One thing that I have learned is to make sure that you start the Flight Sim (either 2002 or 2004) with a cold and dark default plane. I use the default Cessna and shut it down competely and then save it as my default. This allows me to get to the FS menu and make sure things like the view are set correctly for the SSW startup.I always use the Load Editor program as the Registration "portal". Once I got the Activation Key from SSW it has always been the easiest for me.There are a lot of my posts on the SSW forum with my original frustartions. It is getting a lot easier and my success rate is going up the more that I read and fly this plane. One more thing - I don't know if I'm the only one but I can't get the SSW plane to run in BOTH 2002 and 2004 on the same machine. I finally gave up and just fly the FS2004 version. If you have any startup problems with the plane, let me know. I have a little set of "startup" steps that have enabled me to get into the air 100% of the time!Happy flying,Ron [email protected] near KCHS
December 13, 200322 yr Thanks, the windowed mode worked. Finally able to see the registration screen. It's those little things that just kill ya'...Let me know what you're start-up steps are, I'd like to be able to find the APU start switch or "request ground power" routine. The manuals are very comprhensive, but the small important things are buried.
December 13, 200322 yr HelloGround power request is in the MENU for SSW - I dont'use it much. wHILE THERE - SET THE irs START UP TIME TO WHATEVER YOU USE - i USE 2 MINUTES - yOU MUST RESTART THE fs2004 AFTER YOU SAVE IT.The start up switch for the APU is in the Overhead panel - Shft-4 but you need to do some things first:OH (Shf-3) - start all 3 batteriesPress at least the first row of FUEL switchesOH (shft -4) Flip the APU switch UP Press the APU start (left of the switch) Start the APU bleed at press the rest of the Bleed SwitchesWhile you wait for the APU to spin up - press the Yaw Switches and the ATS1 and 2When the APU starts press the APU Gen - you now have power and airOn the Shft-3 OH Set the SYS switch to 1 - Under the left most Align switch Set all three Align switches to NAVGo to the CDU and enter at least a to/fromYou can now press the Align IRS on the CDU and wait the time for the alignIf you want to get more info - go to the SSW forum and read my posts and the answers in the Main Forum. You'll see how I had to poke along to get to where I am now.YOU MUST READ THE PROCEDURES AND TECHNIQUES manual and the AUTOFLIGHT and look at all of the Panel layouts. The graphics are not real sharp so you have to know where some things are - like on the TRP for the FLEX/CL and AUTO modes. If you need more help and I can be of some - try my email - I read it more often than the ForumRon [email protected]
