Installing Radio stack in DC3 DC4 etc

Featured Replies

I wish to do some online flying in a Freeware DC4 and / or the MS DC3.IS there a way to install the radio stack from say Kingair 350. Have tried copying the radio panel file from Kingair into the DC3 and changed the cfg file Transponder =1. It does not work.[Radios]// Radio Type = availiable, standby frequency, has glide slopeAudio.1 = 1Com.1 = 1, 0Com.2 = 1, 0Nav.1 = 1, 0, 1Nav.2 = 1, 0, 0Adf.1 = 1Adf.2 = 1Transponder.1 = 1Marker.1 = 1Any easy way to do this?Kevin Kyle

First, did you modify the panel.cfg to place the radio stack in the main panel or as a pop-up window? Does it show properly? Your section of the aircraft.cfg looks OK.The default King Air 350 (in FS9) uses a pop-up window with the gauges defined as following ijn the panel.cfg:Under [Window Titles]:Window02=Radio Stackthen[Window02]file=Radio_Stack_bg.bmp size_mm=196,349position=8visible=0ident=RADIO_STACK_PANELgauge00=KingAir_Radio!Com1, 0,59gauge01=KingAir_Radio!Com2, 106,59gauge02=KingAir_Radio!Nav1, 0,155gauge03=KingAir_Radio!Nav2, 106,155gauge04=KingAir_Radio!Adf, 0,251gauge05=KingAir_Radio!Xpndr, 106,251gauge06=KingAir_Radio!Audio, 0,0The window sections in panel.cfg must be contiguous starting with [Window00). In your common Gauges folder should be the Kingair_Radio.gau file.If you are going to place a lot of gauges and edit panels consider this $25 payware FS Panel Studio editor from flight1.com and other issuers. It will take care of window numbering if you are adding a pop-up and for any window allow you to remove, add, size, and position gauges from sources in your Gauges folder or aircraft gauges folder using a graphic picture of your panel and panel windows so you can drag them around visually to calculate coordinates. It works with FS9 and FSX. It also links to your image editor if you need to modify the background panel image.http://fspanelstudio.com/ has enabled me to customize many panels with freeware and payware gauges and gauge suites increasing the functionality of many freeware aircraft. It was the second utility I purchased for actually FS8 along with RC3.If you get FSP I recommend the download version for easier installation of upgrades. If you do install it create a shortcut to it if in VISTA or Win 7 and set the shortcut property to run as admin. Finally make sure you turned the power switch from off through standby to on so. Are your radios functioning OK? BTW, you mention on-line flying and RC is for off-line ATC flying. Are you an RC user?
